Accessible Materials for all Students

Our faculty are committed to providing course materials that are accessible to all students.

One project in 2019-2020 was to work with the Accessible Education Center (AEC) to create visual representations of data structures and algorithms using diagramming software and a tactile printer. This enables visually impaired students to mentally visualize the concepts in the Data Structures and Algorithms course (CSC 1310) and Design of Algorithms course (CSC 2400). A paper about this work will be published at the Frontiers in Education conference in September 2021 titled “Improving Understanding of Data Structures for the Blind with Tactile Media and a User-Centered Iterative Approach
