Capabilities
NEXT-Rad is being equipped with state of the art radiation detection systems. When finished, the laboratory will house advanced shielded and unshielded multi-detector radiation spectrometers with both scattering and absorption/capture-based detectors. We are also procuring high-activity broad-energy (Cf-252, 100 μCi) and D-D generator (Alpha-E) neutron sources. The laboratory also possesses high-activity gamma sources and have access to sealed charged particle radiation sources !
