NEXT-Rad at Tennessee Tech University is dedicated to advancing next-generation radiation detection and measurement technologies. Highlights
- May 2026: Miche receives DOE-National Nuclear Security Agency’s Office of Radiological Security (ORS)stipend to attend upcoming INMM Conference in Austin, Texas.
- May 2026: Miche lands 2026 SULI summer internship. He will work in the Advanced Detection and Applied Data Science (ADADS) group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
- Apr 2026: Congrats to Lacey Coates, Ryan Vongsamphanh, and Ryder Haustein for being one of the winners in 2026 Research and Creative Enquiry Symposium at Tech. Their presentation investigates a novel multi-sensor approach for nuclear material interdiction.
- Apr 2026: Júlia Heredia joins NEXT-Rad–welcome! Júlia will conduct Directed Study on nuclear material discrimination using limited data.
- Apr 2026: NEXT-Rad group awarded Internal Grant Program funding for investigating advanced techniques in nuclear material discrimination using limited data.
- Jan 2026: NEXT-Rad’s Radioactive Material License, to house a broad-energy neutron source (252Cf), approved.
