Overview:  Research suggests that the intentional design of SPACE can be a significant factor in facilitating student learning and success across all levels of educational attainment. This conference brings together educators and institutions who use, or who wish to use, formal and informal space in innovative and intentional ways to generate new ideas; develop professional expertise and experience; create new forms of collaboration; and disseminate resources, best practices, and relevant research.

Conference Goals:

  • Generate innovation in the development of learning spaces, particularly in context of limited budgets;
  • Provide professional development opportunities for educators from pre-K-12 to higher education, focused on the intentional adaption of space to pedagogy, and pedagogy to space;
  • Develop sustained and sustainable collaborations across educational levels and institutions related to learning spaces;
  • Create a network for sharing of resources, best practices, and research related to learning spaces.
