IGNITE Fusion Energy presented at SOFE 2025

Our IGNITE Fusion Energy project was featured through a poster presentation at the IEEE 2025 Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE), held June 23–26 in Boston, MA. We were delighted to connect and exchange ideas with fusion engineers, researchers, and educators from around the world. We look forward to future collaborations toward enhancing fusion education and expanding the fusion workforce. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our poster to discuss this exciting initiative!

Course module development is underway

We are excited to announce that our IGNITE Fusion Energy team, including PIs from our partnering universities and the ORNL, has begun developing fusion-relevant course modules scheduled to launch in Fall 2025. Summer 2025 IGNITE student internship program is underway!

The Summer 2025 IGNITE Fusion Energy student internship program has officially started! This year, a total of six students have been recruited from Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee State University, Southern Adventist University, and Tuskegee University. The students will participate in a one-week “Introduction to Fusion” summer school at University of Tennessee – Knoxville, followed by a nine-week research project mentored by researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
