Women and Minorities in Computing Endowed Scholarship for Computer Science
The Women and Minorities in Computing Scholarship for Computer Science provides financial aid to underrepresented groups in an attempt to improve retention of these diverse students in Computer Science.
Eligibility: Any student who meets the following criteria will be eligible to receive a scholarship through the Women and Minorities in Computing Scholarship Endowment:
- Must be a regularly admitted freshman or current student in good standing in accordance with current institutional policies
- Must be a female student of any race, or a male student defined as minority by the University (i.e. black, Hispanic, American Indian, or Alaska native)
- Must be majoring in Computer Science in the College of Engineering or Business Information Technology in the College of Business.
History: In 2018 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee awarded a $50,000 grant for the Diversity Scholarship aimed at putting women and minorities on track for a career right out of college into fields that are in high demand, such as Computer Science.
