STEAM Scholarship for Diversity & Inclusion

The Terracon Foundation has awarded a $5000 grant to support diverse student populations. This grant will be used to create the Terracon Foundation Annual STEAM Scholarship for Diversity & Inclusion.

The Tennessee Tech news article published in May stated “Extending a Tech education to a diverse student population is critical. While Tech’s student body has become more diverse throughout the years, increasing ethnic diversity on the Tech campus remains a critical part of the university’s mission to expand opportunity and economic competitiveness. Tech set an initial goal of $2 million for the Diversity Scholarship Initiative.” Increasing diversity of students in the Department of Computer Science is one of our committee’s top goals and we are excited about the university’s increased commitment to support underrepresented students.
