Improving PTSD Care: The Advantage of an Approach at the intersection of Computing and Social Science
Abstract:
Dr. Arriaga will speak about her current NSF project to design and build a computational system to improve Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) recovery. She will discuss the importance of intellectual diversity in computing and how her Psychology background has allowed her to ask a unique set of research questions. She will also share her experience as a first-generation college student and provide insights for students who would like to pursue graduate studies.
About Dr. Arriaga:
Dr. Rosa Arriaga is a computer scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Her emphasis is on using psychological theories and methods to address fundamental topics of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Social Computing.
