  • Welcome to AI-accelerated Modeling of Materials at Scale (AIMMS) Lab!

AIMMS Lab is established by Dr. Rajni Chahal in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Tennessee Tech University.

As the director of AIMMS lab, Dr. Chahal’s vision is to accelerate materials discovery by employing quantum to continuum scale simulation techniques along with multiscale modeling approaches.

At AIMMS Lab, we use Density Functional Theory (DFT), Molecular Dynamics (MD), Finite Element Method (FEM), enhanced sampling methods, machine learning, uncertainty quantification, high-performance computing (HPC), and informed experiments to enable fundamental insights into structure, properties, and chemical transformations in materials relevant to aerospace engineering and nuclear energy applications.

    Stay tuned for more updates!
