Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a multidisciplinary computer aided design software made for collaboration. Engineers, Architects, and MEPs (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) traditionally collaborate with one another individually in the construction process, but BIM is a tool that operates as the central model, allowing for more efficiency and less error across all professionals.
Revit, Robot, and More
The Center for Construction and Building Information Modeling teaches students using programs including Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Robot and Enscape. These programs allow CAD modeling and rendering for structures, including details such as steel beam types, connections and load calculations.
